The
Veterans of Foreign Wars—or VFW for short, was
originally founded in 1899 as the American Veterans of
Foreign Service and is a voice for returning and
currently deployed servicemembers and their families.
The 2.4 million members of the VFW and its Auxiliaries
are located in 8,500 VFW posts around the world. We
welcome everyone who meets
VFW eligibility requirements, regardless of age,
race, religion, or gender.
Post 6873 is
dedicated to supporting those who sacrifice so much for
this country—veterans, service members in the US Armed
Forces, and their families.
Our purpose
shall be fraternal, patriotic, historical and educational; to
preserve and strengthen comradeship among our members; to assist
worthy comrades; to perpetuate the memory and history of our
dead, and to assist their widows and orphans; to maintain true
allegiance to the Government of the United States of America,
and fidelity to its Constitution and laws; to foster true patriotism,
to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom;
and to preserve and defend the United States from all her enemies,
whomsoever.
